Veteran Kannada actor Anant Nag to join BJP in Bengaluru

Anant Nag, a 74-year-old Kannada actor is to join BJP officially in Bengaluru today.

Anant Nag is a renowned Kannada movie actor who is also a part of several Hindi and Telegu movies. His on-screen journey has a long history of almost 5 decades.

Being this long in the acting industry, he took his first step in 1973 with the film “Sankalpa”. Throughout his career Nag contribute around 300 movies to the film industry all over. A few of his Hindi films are – Nishant, Bhumika, Kaliyug, and many others.

The actor had a successful acting career and received many awards and appreciation for his work.

Anant Nag comeback to the political career

The actor had a keen eye for politics from the reel life, during one of his shootings role of a politician he says- The role to play of politician is the easiest to act. It was only during his real lifetime, in the field of politics he realized how hard it is to be in the shoes of a politician.

In 2004, Nag has successfully contested the Chamrajpet Constituency Bangalore Assembly Election from Janata Dal. He has also served as the Bangalore Urban Development Minister.

Quite active in politics he has always supported the views of the BJP party and that of Narendra Modi. He was an MLCMLA, and a minister in the JH Patel government.

When Kashmir files were released for the rights of Kashmiri pandits, Nag became the voice for the community of Kashmiri pandits in the south. Due to his busy schedule in the film sector, Nag’s interest in a political career had to take a break.

After being successful, Anant Nag thought to revoke his interest again and decided to join the BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party) officially on 22nd Feb, in the presence of BJP state president Nalin Kumar in Bengaluru.
