Madhya Pradesh CM issues a new campaign for women, Ladli Behna Yojana starting on International Women’s Day

A “Ladli Behna Yojana” has been announced by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in honour of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2023. Under this campaign, 60000 crores will be given to the selected women in 5 years by the government of Madhya Pradesh. Women from the state can provide for their families through this scheme. Its primary purpose is to provide women with Rs. 1000 per month.

How to apply for Ladli Behna Yojana?

To apply to this project, women must fill out an application. Women will use it from the coming 8 March, International Women’s Day. As of now, CM Chouhan has just announced the scheme. Further updates regarding the plan will be put forth by the government of Madhya Pradesh.

Eligibility of Ladli Behna Yojana

The government of Madhya Pradesh announced that women who belong to the rural parts of the state and are sisters of Madhya Pradesh could apply for this scheme. Those from the backward class, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and general category are also eligible for this program.

CM Chouhan also launched a Ladli Laxmi Yojana in 2007. This scheme was announced to protect, educate, and provide for girl-children. A girl would be given money after certain levels of completing the hierarchy of education. When she turns 21 years, she will receive a certificate of Rs. 1,43,000.

Girls from Madhya Pradesh who come from a non-tax paying family and were born after 1 January 2006 are eligible for this scheme. The state minister, Maya Singh, reported that more than 20 lakh girls have benefited from this Yojana as of 14 May 2015. Apart from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Goa have also implemented his Yojana.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan served as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh three times and is currently the Chief Minister of MP. Furthermore, he has served as a member of the State Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh, former Vice-President, Parliamentary Board member, and member of the Central Election Committee of the Bhartiya Janta Party.
