Anup Bhandari takes the privilege to direct the upcoming Indian Kannada-language film “Vikrant Rona.” It is an action-based adventure and fantasy film. It has many mysterious twists and turns. Sudeep asserts a possibility of a sequel to Vikrant Rona in an interview with News 18. The film is to be dubbed and released in various Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam in the South and Hindi in the North. It is also dubbed in English and other foreign languages.

Story:

Some mystical events were spectated in the backwoods of the tropical rainforest, which were thought to be supernatural almost a half-century ago. A whimsical cop enters the place in the meantime, unfurling the cryptic play in the village, where everyone plays the role of both victim and suspect. The scene plots around the tactical way of unfolding the truth by Vikranth Rona, the strategic police officer. The story is filmed for 147 minutes.

Cast and Crew:

Anup Bhandari writes the story. The producers of the film are Shalini Jack Manju and Alankar Pandian. The Production Companies are Shalini Arts, Kichcha Creations, and Invenio Films India support the making of the film. Ashik Kusugolli edits the whole plot.

The titular character is Sudeep. Nirup Bhandari, brother of Anup Bhandar, stars as Sanjeev Gambhira. Neetha Ashok plays Aparna “Ballal, and Jacqueline Fernandez as Gadang Rakkamma / Racquel D’Coasta. She plays a prominent role along with an appearance for a song. Other pivotal roles are starred by actors and actresses like Ravishankar Gowda, Madhusudan Rao, Vasuki Vaibhav, Siddu Moolimani, Chitkala Biradar, and Ramesh Rai.

William David does cinematography. The sound experience is given by the Music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath, who composed the songs and background music. He collaborates l with actor Sudeep for the first time. Lahari Music and T-Series acquired the music rights.

Distribution and Home Media:

Zee Kannada purchased the satellite rights, and ZEE5 has the digital rights to the Kannada version of the movie. Raghavendra Hunsur, the head of Zee Kannada, officially announced the rights of various companies in the distribution of the movie in various versions in his channel’s show, Zee Kutumba Awards, in 2021. Shalini Arts has the privilege to distribute the original Kannada version of the movie all Karnataka.

Salman Khan Films and PVR Pictures hold the right to distribute the Hindi version of the film in North India. The one twenty 8 Media, through Phars Films, bought the overseas distributing rights. Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films has the right to distribute the Malayalam version of the film. In Tamil Nadu, the film’s distribution rights are held by Zee Studios. In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Cosmos Entertainment hold the right to distribute the Telugu version through KFC Films.

Budget and Filming:

The initial planned budget of the film was ₹15 crore. But then, the budget was increased to ₹95 crore as the scale of the film was high. On 1st March 2020, the primary photo shoot began, and the filming started on 2nd March 2020, under the title Phantom at Hyderabad. Actor Sudeep was also engaged in filming Kotigobba 3. Hence he starred in both Phantom and Kotigobba 3 simultaneously.

Originally, the producers planned that Sanchith Sanjeev, nephew of Sudeep, would be cast, but then Nirup Bhandari, brother of Anup Bhandari, was chosen for the cast.

When the team prepared for the second schedule, the COVID-19 pandemic hit badly, curbing the film’s progress. On 13th June 2020, the crew announced that they’ll resume their work by July.

As said, they resumed their work on 16th July 2020, amidst the pandemic situation at the Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, where they constructed a huge set of dense forests. The major filming work took place in Annapurna Studios and Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Other shoots were done in Mahabaleshwar, Malshej Ghat, and Kerala.

Release date:

Sudeep’s most awaited and high-hyped movie ‘Vikrant Rona’ is finally on its eleventh hour to be unfurled on the big screens. The initial release was planned on 19 August 2021. However, it was postponed 24 February 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And finally, the film is confirmed to be released on 28th July 2022 worldwide with 3D version.

The movie has already created so much hype among cine freaks through its trailer, posters and all other promotional activities. Nearly 7000 screens across the world are set for screening this film. Yogish, from One Twenty & Media said that the film is to be released on around 1200 screens overseas. The film is certified with UA certificate by the CBFC board. It permits the commencement of the advance bookings on 25th July 2022.

Box Office Prediction:

On concerning the performance of box office, it is to be noted that the year 2022 is the year of Sandalwood Cinemas. The highly anticipated second part of KGF was first delivered by the industry. The unprecedented performance set the box office on fire. And then 777 Charlie arrived on the silver screens, the small film was well-received by the audience and the critics alike.

Now, the biggie ‘Vikrant Rona’ is expected to set fire the previous records of the box office performance. There is an early prediction that, the movie will collect around Rs.15-20 Crores on it first day. As it is a mid-week release, now it is expected that it draws in Rs.50-75 crores on the 4th day as it is extended opening weekend. The mass audience response will determine the lifetime collection of the film.

The film has already grossed around Rs.4.11 Crore from the advance for day 1. The tickets worth of Rs.3.30 Crore was sold in the Karnataka state, which marks the achievement of the film. Going by this, it is determined to take an excellent start up in its home market.
